Weekly Photo Challenge: Golden Hour
The theme of the Golden Hour from those folks over at the Daily Post is aimed at the first and last hour of daylight.
This photo was taken at 9.45pm. As you will know if you live in the UK or may have heard if not, we have been experiencing some glorious weather. It brings those lovely warm evenings when the air is still and life seems a little better somehow.
In Bristol at the moment, we are celebrating ‘Gromit Unleashed’. The side kick to Wallace has been sculpted and 80 of them, decorated by invited artists, have been ‘unleashed’ around the City. At the end of September they will be auctioned off to raise money for Bristol’s Children’s hospital. As Aardman Animations (creators of Wallace and Gromit) hailed from Bristol they have been staunch supporters of the fund raising campaign and most years we have a ‘Wrong Trousers Day’.
This fine specimen is called ‘Golden Gromit’ and was decorated by artist Julie Vernon (do read her story of the event!)
Golden gromit in the golden hour: nice!

I had no idea how BIG this guy really was until I went to the link and read all about the artist’s process. Wow. Interesting and so much work. On a ladder even. Thanks sharing. I enjoyed reading about Gromit getting a new ‘suit’.
