Cat One!

This post is a little bit of silliness the brainchild of Marylin over at  Softthistle. It’s like a round-up of your week in bite sized pieces. Do pop over & see what the others have been getting up to!

I have only one snippet to share this week. You may not know this but here in England, schools are put into categories that match those given by Ofsted. If you follow my blog you may remember that I’m a Governor at two schools – one primary & the other (where I’m Chair) is a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU). This is where those children of 11+ are sent when they have been excluded from school.

You’d think that it could be a scary place & I suppose at times it can be. The young people have many issues & most of them can be played out in anger. however,it is a fantastic place. The young people wear uniform, are very respectful & sit 4/5 GCSEs. This can put them ahead of their mainstream colleagues.

Anyway, back to the snippet! We were put into Category 1 on Friday!!! That means ‘outstanding’! I’m so thrilled for the Head Val & the staff who work incredibly hard! They can have a great summer now. I have told them all of course that we need to work even harder next year to make sure we don’t slip but…thye already know that!
