13 Challenges – #9/3 National Trust Ightham Mote (outside)

Just to complete our visit to Ightham Mote (inside), here are some pictures of the outside.

As you can see it is a very grand sight and the surrounding gardens and woodland walks are super. In this gallery you have views of the building and mote, the grand entrance over the bridge, making honey, alms houses (which you can stay in as National Trust visitors), a delightful fountain hidden in a secret garden.

There is also a photo of the tea rooms. This is a feature of most National Trust properties that I have to applaud. They serve delicious home made dishes, scones and cakes and make use of any opportunity to sit outside. Here at Ightham, the birds are very happy that the tea rooms get so many visitors!
