New teacher!
That cheeky lady, Jenny Matlock has put a slant on Saturday Centus this week. Instead of a prompt, we have been given a title. As usual we can only use 100 words! When you have read mine, do pop over to her blog & see the other entries!

What I did over my summer vacation
As a newly qualified teacher, I have spent most of my holiday in my new classroom getting it ready. Most of the walls now have bright displays. Each drawer has a label on it either a child’s name or what the contents are. I want the children to feel pleased to be in my class so I have put little cartoon figures by their names on their work books.
I just need to sort out an activity for the first day.
I want to get to know them so – they can write about what I did over my summer vacation!
Oh, I loved this twist on the essay!
You are very clever!
I admire teachers with imagination and geniune enthusiasm.
Your school district is lucky to have you.
And we are lucky you linked this week.
This was fun.
Thank you.
From a former teacher to a new one, GOOD LUCK! I hope your first year goes well. It’s a wonderful job full of eternal rewards.
Hi Julia! Thanks so much for stopping by my blog and leaving a comment! I like your Summer Vacation story. I just browsed a bit on your blog. It’s really a great one! Hopefully, I’ll make it back from time to time. You know how it is…the more you find, the more you like, etc..etc..!! Have a great day!
Wow! Thank you! It’s a great way to meet other bloggers isn’t it!
Sounds like a wonderful way to spend your summer vacation. I took our niece to her “meet the teacher” night last week, and the classroom was adorable. It sounds like yours is too!
I love really well decorated classrooms. makes the children feel more settled! Thank you for visiting!
It sounds like you are a good teacher on a mission…great post…I love teachers 😉 Peace
I love teachers but it is a long time since I had to ‘do my room’! Thanks for popping in!
My sister’s been teaching a long time, but she always spends the week before school making her room special. Like you, she wants her students to feel at home…and cared for.
You are going to do a good job!
=)
I’m not a teacher anymore! Reited as a head two years ago! Glad she is following the tradition!
I am glad I am on a TA don’t have to spend my time prepping
Lucky girl! Thanks for commenting!
