If only!
This week’s Centus takes you where no man has been before – yes – we’re off to Space! As usual the prompt is in blue & I have 100 additional words to make a creative piece!

The hologram deck was a perfect replica of Bada57. The tropical climate with its golden sand, blue sky & even bluer sea was a favourite retreat for the crew of the Greenfield as it toured the galaxies in its role as space protector. The last melee with the Ungarians had taken it out of them all. The loss of the warp drive was critical. There’d be a waiting list for this recreational facility.
Mary closed the book – her first foray into sci-fi.
“Umm,” she thought looking at the pile of ironing waiting to be done
“Beam me up Scottie”!
Now pop over to Jenny’s blog & read some more ‘Out of this world’ things!
I’m with you. I’d rather write anything (including sci-fi) than iron!
This was really a neat twist on this difficult prompt and genre.
I think you nailed it.
Thanks for linking.
Can’t get away from household chores, phew! Liked the twist.
This is my dream scenario! Lordy, do I hate ironing and I could use some warmth…well done for a tough assignment!
I perfectly understand the feeling…what’s household chores when alien worlds beckon?….good one… 🙂
Ah, the escape of a good book…until we have to return to reality. I face it often!
Ha! Sue and I thought the same thing. Send the laundry up!~Ames
Maybe she should just beam the laundry up!
😉
Yeah, this was really well written. Sounds like she was writing a good story. I say the laundry could wait , ha.
Yeah, I should be doing laundry too. But glad you were writing. this was cute
I really like the unexpected twist. You took me right into the world of sci-fi, then right back into reality. “Beam me up, Scottie,” indeed.

Glad you liked it Robyn!
Clever use of this sci-fi prompt, Julia! I imagine laundry will be even more problematic in the future when we are all wearing our silver metallic form-fitting jumpsuits. Oh joys! Great job this week!
You & your imagination Tom!
I feel for her. I’ve been putting my laundry off all weekend. Beam me up indeed. This was a nice, creative take on the prompt.
Many thanks Kat!
Ha! Don’t we wish!!
Too right especially on laundry day!
Oh forget about the laundry stick to writing!
Thanks Karen!
