Quote Alphabet – #C
For the letter ‘C’ I have chosen Cars.
As many regulars here know, we have a problem with too many cars and not enough places to park in our road. For some reason I get really cross when I can’t park outside my house. I feel it is my right. At the moment you are lucky to be able park in the street! The council are suggesting resident parking zones but they will only run during the day and it is in the evening we have a problem.
Some quotes about these items we can’t do without but that give us lots of problems!
“You know, somebody actually complimented me on my driving today. They left a little note on the windscreen, it said ‘Parking Fine.”
― Tommy Cooper
“Take it easy driving– the life you save may be mine.”
― James Dean
“Money may not buy happiness, but I’d rather cry in a Jaguar than on a bus.”
― Françoise Sagan
“The car has become an article of dress without which we feel uncertain, unclad, and incomplete in the urban compound.”
― Marshall McLuhan
It is awful when you get home from the supermarket and can’t get anywhere near your door. We have residents parking from 10-4 and it works well because the main culprits before were hospital workers who wanted my 15 minute walk to work. These roads just weren’t built for 2 or 3 car families and multiple occupancy 🙁
Someone put a positive spin on a negative situation. We you have groceries to unload, the weather is uncooperative and you are a lady of a certain maturity, its important to have your vehicle close by. 😉
When I lived in town I usually couldn’t even park in my street let alone outside my house. The extra walking is healthy.
