Transport? You sure?
Tara has been on holiday so the theme for this week’s Gallery is ‘Planes, Trains and Automobiles’
This gave me a great excuse to share some real transport photos with you. None of these are souped up chevys or limos but a still grand way to travel.
I wonder how much the bus fare was for a ride on this?
We saw this one working as well! Beamish Living Museum of the North is well worth a visit. You go back to when life was lived at a much more stately pace!
Talking of stately, it must have been a sight to see these on the roads!
Do pop over to Sticky Fingers to see the other modes of transport that have been chosen
I LOVE the double-decker. We don’t see those around here.
am loving the tram! that would be my preference.
Can you imagine trying to get onto a Penny Farthing? Love the tram shot.
Ooh, we went back to the US last summer and while their went to the local “corn festival” (don’t ask) to watch a good old fashioned parade, and there were three elderly gentlemen each on a bike just like the one above, all in varying heights.
They told us that front wheel was made to match the length of the riders legs to the center – that must have been one talllll dude that rode that bike!
That penny farthings is huge!! I wonder if anyone actually rode it.
I love the look of penny farthings but wonder how people could possibly have thought they were a sensible mode of transport!
Great post! I’ve never seen a tram like that. Beautiful. Will show my 4-year-old, he’ll be delighted.
I am a new mummy blogger on the circuit.
Here’s my post for this week http://bit.ly/NwGbee
I look forward to reading your blog.

Great minds think alike. I’ve got trams on my entry this week too!
What a fun post. That “bus” looks like fun–who wouldn’t want to be riding on the second deck? And that bike? I have enough trouble on a small, two-wheeler!!
I thought the first one would be from Critch. We love trams.
Brings back memories of when I was little, there was and still is a penny farthing in Exeter (RAM) museum and I always wanted to ride it!
There was one in Guildford Museum too. Now I want to see if it is still there.
