Kitchen 1960’s Style!
Tara has asked for posts around the theme of ‘the Kitchen’. Here is mine with a bit of a competition!
On our recent trip to Edinburgh, we took a visit to the new museum. It is excellent so do go!! However, one exhibt that really took my eye was this.
I want you to see how many things you recognise, or maybe even have and I’ll post the list in a couple of days. I spent a lot of time going ‘Oh wow, we had one of those’ or ‘Oh my mum always wanted one of those’ or ‘ Goodness I hated that thing. It never worked!’
LOOK VERY CAREFULLY!
Make sure you pop over the Sticky Fingers to see some other kitcheny posts!
Very classic! Great post!
Glad you liked it. Great to see you here! Do come again!
I like seeing these old places, though they make me feel even older. Yesterday, someone said something about the 1980s and that some of the teachers weren’t born then. What?
Saw your comment about the 1980s. 🙂
Numerically, the 20th Century ended with the year 2000 and the new century started with Jan 1, 2001. Taking this into account, the last children born in the 20th Century will be finishing primary school in 2012. Now there’s a thought. 🙂
Of course, if you take the emotional beginning of the 20th Century and say the 21st started in 2000, this year sees the end of 20th century children attending primary.
Primary school will soon be the domain of only 21st Century children.

Some classics there! A pressure cooker, I loved mine, a grill hanging on the wall! An electrical fire, apparently I crawled into one and burnt my forehead much to the delight of my mother
I remember the Kenwood mixer with the K beater – I had my Mum’s mixer after she died but sadly it broke recently – so now all I have is the mixer bowl.
The Kenwood mixer! With that panel on the top at the back where the liquidizer fixes on. There is also a mincer that attaches to the front. We had the K wisk and the egg beater… I could go on all day. Magimix eat your heart out.
That’s brilliant, really captures the era in all it’s glory 🙂
I do believe I can see a mangel

i remember those horrible electric fires and I think we had that toaster!
