The Space!
Saturday Centus time again! As usual, I have 100 words to add to the prompt (in blue). This ingenious puzzle is the brain child of Jenny Matlock over at her great blog.

The last thing Dad had said was ‘You go careful when you park. As a new driver it can be a bit tricky. Remember objects in the rear view mirror are closer than they appear.
The one way street was quiet but as usual there were cars parked both sides. I gently crawled along trying to spot a space. Found one! I gently reversed, Dad’s words sounding in my head & my eyes fixed on the car behind. I stopped proudly!
Suddenly there was the blaring of a horn, a door slamming. ‘How selfish! If you’d moved back I could have got in there! How much space do you need! !
If you scroll down just a tiny bit more & look left, you’ll see a star. If you liked this please click the star!
Hmmm…. I can’t find the star. But I did like this and would have checked it if I could have found it.
Although this use of the prompt made me break out in hives I really enjoyed it anyway.
Parallel parking is just wrong. Why can’t they design parking spaces for normal people? Who can possibly wiggle a great big ol’ vehicle into that eensy, weensy spot?
I would write a long comment but I need to find a paper bag to hyperventilate into right now.
Thanks for linking.
When did you watch ME parallel park? My neighbors used to stand on the sidewalk and laugh at me…
Great job!
I couldn’t find the star but I did like this! A lot.
This was great fun. Thanks for the chuckle.
Oooh, haha. I avoided parallel parking at all costs the first few years driving. But like your story shows, sometimes if it’s not one thing you do wrong it’s another! Great job!
People yell at my driving all the time. I tell ’em if you don’t like it, then stay off the sidewalk! I loved this story. It brought back some painful memories of when I first learned to drive. Great job!
I actually had a wreck on the first day I drove alone. Did it while trying to park! This story brought back some memories! I enjoyed!

I’ve been driving for 46 years, and I still hate it when people blare their horns at me! Great job of evoking that feeling of being a new driver.
Thanks……….cj
This was such a true to life Centus. I can just imagine some person coming out and yelling lol. I loved it. Good job.
Very crafty use of the prompt…the ending superb…speaks to life in general…Peace
I hate it when people blast their horns! Nice use of the prompt, really evocative of the fear and feelings of a new driver. And I still hate to parallel park 🙂
heehee
Nice ending!
=)
Ah, yes, a memory of a new driver…but still it is hard to distance with the mirror I think!
