Hands up!I admit It!
My friend @Sardinetin has tagged me with this meme started by @kateab. It’s about Twitter & how I got here!
When did you join Twitter?
My twitter birthday is 5th May 2009. I don’t remember it to be honest – is that sacrilege do you think?
Why did you join Twitter?
My friend @Michelle_Hill had tried to get me join a year or so before. IUt all proved far to much at the time so I left it. However, by the time I joined, my retirement routine was settling well & I just felt ready to put my toe into a new world.
Who is/was your oldest follower? Who did you follow first? Tell me all about them.
Like many others @StephenFry was one of my firsts. I was an active member of his forum so it was a natural thing to do. One of my first folk was dear Gary at Blog Up North. He & I had met via a School Governors forum so I felt I ‘knew him. Also on the ‘early list’ was Paula at Battling On. Not sure if she came via Gary or not but once I was following Paula, I gained lots of people to follow! Thanks P!
Do you have any celebrities following you or have you ever had a DM from a celeb?
My only claim to fame is a conversation with Alexander McCall Smith via DMs which did result in me meeting him!
I’ve also had tweets from Alan Davies, Boris Johnson & Vince Cable
If you could follow anyone who is not on Twitter – alive, dead, real or fictional – on Twitter who would it be?
That’s a real tricky one! Charles Dickens maybe. Scarpetta from the Patricia Cornwell novels?
Which came first Twitter or the Blog?
Definitely Twitter. My first blog (did you see how I snuck the fact that I’ve got two blogs in?!) was birthed in March this year. It was following mummy bloggers that gave me the idea that maybe I could run a blog & they also gave me the confidence & support to have a go.
So, there you have it! I now need to tag some other bloggers that you may not know. Trouble is this meme has been around a little while so apologies if you’ve already been nabbed:
To have a go, the rules are:
Nick the badge and mention the person who tagged you.
Answer the questions.
Select some more fab bloggers who tweet to continue the meme.
I remember when you set up your blog, I was still quite twitter shy at the time but we had connected and I remember your first post:) Ooooh, I feel all proud of you now, look at you zooming along with my fave gallery entries and two blogs 😀 Jen
So it’s all my fault? Or possibly Garry’s? I tend to blame him/hun for most things so I’m going to go with the latter 🙂
You definitely win in the celebrity stakes in the sense that you actually met someone well known through Twitter!
