Road Trip!
The Centus this week is all about travel. As usual we have been given a prompt by Jenny Matlock & we have 100 words to create an interesting piece of writing. The prompt is in blue

It was never going to work.
Things had gone wrong from the start – the rush for the passports which were long out of date, the scrabble for driving licences, checking all those visas & documents giving permission to go.
Why should you need permission for goodness sake? He was too old to go on a road trip. Why hadn’t he done it when he was younger & fitter? Now it was not an adventure it was just…
‘Sorry, what did you say?’
‘What did that road sign say?’
‘Exit 181, ½ mile ahead….’
‘What! We’re supposed to be at the beginning not the end!’

If you have enjoyed this little piece why not pop over to see what children can do with 100 words? You will find their entries here
This was a neat use of the prompt. I always feel like I’m lost…sometimes even when I’m at my destination.
This is giving me something to think about.
LOL! Loved your take on the prompt! I get lost regularly,, which is sometimes a problem since men are forbidden by man law to ask for directions. Usually though I end up someplace I never would have known about, so it’s all good! Wonderful job!
This is very well written! I could feel your exasperation at the thought of this trip. Then you ended up at the wrong end of the road—or did you?
Namaste……….cj
what an interesting story … lost is sometimes a good thing !
This is a tale I loved…losing yourself i ain the trip and the quirky moments that happen along the way make it memorable or dreadful. beautifully Strung words.
I know how he feels. I trained myself to enjoy getting lost. Fun post!

We took Rod’s Mum on many road trips. She documented each trip in a journal, right down to exactly what each one of us had for our meals each day. She even wrote about the time I developed an infection in one of my nostrils! It was VERY funny!!
I really like this…I would love to know more of this story…Peace and blessings
Very good ! Often where the road leads us is not where we wanted to end up…oh, the unknown…makes life interesting !
Most all of our journeys have those exits along the way, don’t they? Do we stick to the plan or opt out?
NIce one.
