An 'All Sorts' bench

For the month of July, Jude over at Travel Words is asking for pictures of benches with unusual details. I knew that this bench in Hamilton Gardens, New Zealand would have a chance to shine.
It appears to be made of stone but as there are all sorts of items pressed into it, maybe it was concrete. There was no explanation!
Maybe a technophobe sat here!
Or maybe just a magpie taking a rest from hoarding!
What would you commit to concrete and why? Do pop over to Jude’s and see what other amazing things folks have sat on!!
Funny old world, isn’t it? 🙂
reminds me of Park Guell in Barcelona http://www.barcelona-tourist-guide.com/en/gaudi/park-guell.html – highly recommend a visit if youve never been
We have and yes, I can see the similarity!
wonderful bench!
Thank you! Definitely different I think!

Definitely different. An ode to the Kiwi and his number 8 wire mentality!!!!
Oh I love it even if it isn’t very comfy!
How unique it is.:)
Every one like it would be too Susan!
What a great way to never lose your remote again!
That made me smile Violet!
I love this idea, history set in stone.
..and each age would have it’s own!
But most importantly, is it comfortable to sit on?
It doesn’t look like the ‘tuck your feet up with a book’ does it Isobel?!
I don’t recall seeing this bench – which part of the garden is it in? Looks like a tribute to 20th century living or maybe they are things found in the garden? Whatever the purpose it definitely falls under the ‘unusual’ category 😀
I’d stick mosaics in concrete simply to make it more colourful.
It was round by the garden shed if I remember correctly Jude.
