Penshurst Place
You guessed it! This is a post for Jenny Matlock’s ‘Alphabe – Thursday’ and the letter is ‘P’.
I’m taking you round a wonderful estate in the Kent countryside. It is the ancestral home of the Sidney family and is a magnificent example of a 14th century medieval masion with a great hall and minstral’s Gallery.
The grounds are wonderful with lots of variety from knot gardens to orchards to expanses of lawns with large ponds where gold fishes swim lazily around.
It is now a popular venue for weddings (when it’s not teeming with visitors of course!)
ENJOY!
