13 Challenges – #6 / 4 Canterbury

Visiting Canterbury, is like going home for us. Up to a  few years ago we had a second home here. The reason behind having it was to make our trips to see Gillingham FC play football a little less fraught. They weren’t very good and it was a long way home when they had lost!

The city is the home of the Cathedral of St Augustine and this is where for many people Christianity really started in England. If you look closely, you can see the arch to the cathedral here.

Canterbury is full of cobbled streets (much like York) and has a very ‘olde worlde’ feel despite there being the usual modern shops and traders.

It has some wonderful restaurants, great pubs and a really interesting riverside walk to go on. There is also the Canterbury Tales to see, a re-telling of Chaucer’s great tales among many other sights.

The photos are not the usual ‘tourist’ ones. You must visit and take your own!

If you haven’t caught up with the 13 Challenges, do look at the tab at the top and have a mooch around!
