Direction Day#10

The theme for today is ‘Direction’ and I have chosen a star as the Christmas symbol.

Why a star?Direction

Apart from the baby in the manger, the star that guided folks had a key role to play in the nativity. Stars have been used for hundreds of years to guide travellers so it is a good symbol to use for direction. They also have a magical property attached that I was reminded of this week when I watched Pinocchio when Geppetto  asks the north star to turn the little wooden boy into a live one

Star light, star bright, the first star I see tonight

I wish I may, I wish I might, I wish my wish come true tonight.

As a girl I can remember making similar wishes when the sky was clear!

Which way?

This is the time of year for reflection and for planning. Many folks look back on their resolutions made with energy and enthusiasm as they unwrapped a new calendar. For some of us (me included) it is a pointless exercise as most intentions are broken or forgotten very easily.

I am someone who does like to be organised but have found this year to be quite a ‘butterfly’ year. By that I mean I seem to have flitted from idea to idea. I’ve had a great time but have felt that perhaps I need to settle and concentrate on one thing at a time

New direction

The new year has made me decide to at least think about a plan! That’s definite isn’t it?!  I still have so many things I want to be involved in and there is no reason why I can’t do them but there is something stopping me. Can you guess what that is?  ME!

I need to sort out my time management. I have discovered so many wonderful experts out there all of whom give me ideas and tips but I get side tracked and the time goes. So, for 2016 I need to

  • turn off constant social media feeds
  • make a daily work plan that includes breaks
  • stick to the plans that I make
  • celebrate what I have achieved each day and not wait for the big stuff

Guiding star

Just like those adverts for puppies, I wish that I had a star that was not just for Christmas! Perhaps I’ll keep our out of the decoration box and fix it in my study to remind me of the direction I should be going in!

What keeps you going the right way?
